Upper Mustang is the former Kingdom of Lo, also known as the last Forbidden Kingdom. It was still closed to all foreigners until 1992 and although the kingdom officially ended in 2008 with the creation of the Nepal republic, the Upper Mustang region of the Himalayas is still highly regulated and the number of visits limited. It remains the best place in the world to experience traditional Tibetan culture and lifestyle.
Upper Mustang is also Nepal's ultimate Mountain-Bike destination where physical challenge, technical descents and single tracks trails, combined with spectacular mountain views make for an unforgettable cycling adventure.
Mountain-biking through Nepal's last Forbidden Kingdom is a full-fledged expedition. Our crew will include a professional mountain-bike guide, one or more cooks, porters and a caravan of mules, horses or yaks to carry all the food, tents and your luggage.
Our professional mountain-bike guide has 20 years of experience mountain-biking around the region and was one of the first to ride a mountain-bike through the upper Mustang valley when it opened to the outside world.
